You survived (well, at least emerged from) Miami. What's next? Zona Maco's Mexican Comtemporary Art and Design Fair. Curated by design powerhouse Ceclia León de la Barra, this platform for the best and brightest design and artistic talent should be a mecca for design journalists and aficionados who want a thoughtful, more provocative understanding of how art and creative workers are shaping the face of intercontinental cultural movements. (Bravo to Artforum's coverage last year!) We are eagerly anticipating the extremely talented David Pichardo's (the man behind the fair's fantastic design) reportage-- the editor.
Information from the Zona Maco site:
For the third year, Zona MACO is pleased to feature the design secion of Mecixo Arte Contemoraneo, in which the work of studios and galleries in Mexico and the United States is presented. The aim is to create partnerships between industries, designers, international galleries and artists to produce limited editions of utilitarian objects that support the design market in Mexico and the world. This year will be curated by Cecilia León de la Barra(Mexico City 1975), industrial designer and independent curator.
